Re-defining the perception of advanced mobile phones… the HTC Touch Diamond™ signals a giant leap forward in combining hi-tech prowess with intuitive usability and exhilarating design.
Featuring a sharp 2.8-inch touch screen housed within a stunning formation of brushed metal and flawless faceted edges, the HTC Touch Diamond is as beautiful to behold as it is to use.
With HTC’s vibrant touch-responsive user interface, TouchFLO™ 3D, and ultra-fast HSDPA internet connectivity… the HTC Touch Diamond offers a rich online experience to rival a notebook computer, allowing you to interact with Google, YouTube, and Wikipedia as freely as you would with a broadband connection.
Your contacts, favourite music, videos and photos are no longer an uninspired line of text. With TouchFLO 3D, album artwork, video stills and snapshots of your friends’ and family’s faces are brought to life for you to interact, play and launch at your fingertips.
A 3.2 megapixel auto-focus camera will help you capture the perfect moment in style and with a massive 4GB of internal storage you can keep all the files you need. The integrated ultra-sensitive GPS will help you find your destination as quickly and efficiently as a dedicated satellite navigation unit.

Yet another version of the HTC Touch Diamond has passed through the FCC recently, dubbed the ‘DIAM110′. While there is no confirmation in the FCC documents that this model will be carried by AT&T, the presence of dual-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850/1900MHz) support is a good indication that AT&T is its intended recipient.
The HTC Touch Diamond is a stylish handset with a large touchscreen display and 3.2 megapixel camera. HTC’s finger-friendly TouchFLO user interface makes using the handset a breeze, and Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional allows the handset to keep you organized on the go.
The FCC documents are available here.

T-Mobile Germany and HTC have partnered to announce the MDA Vario IV, a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional powered smartphone with a large touchscreen display and finger-friendly user interface. The MDA Vario IV also sports a large slide-out QWERTY keyboard, for convenient text entry. It also appears to have 256MB of RAM, which should keep this monster operating quickly.
The MDA Vario IV uses a large VGA resolution touchscreen display to show off its TouchFLO user interface and video calling (where supported). This smartphone also offers tri-band GSM/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz) and WCDMA (2100MHz) with support for 7.2Mbps HSDPA and, we believe, WiFi for speedy data. A built-in GPS receiver will also help the MDA Vario IV know where you are, and the 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus will allow you to remember places you’ve been.
Pricing and availability information were not announced.

The HTC Touch is one of the prettier smart phones in the market, especially amongst the Windows Mobile Professional bracket. That being the case, it’s probably been rather irritating for most users that only were able to have one color, chosen by their carrier. Colors include Black for Sprint, white for Verizon, and grey for Alltell. Alltell aims to change this by adding a burgundy color to its line.
Since the specifications don’t change, the phone is still priced the same, which is $129.99 with a two year contract.

HTC has developed a technology for slider phones that could make them both more useful and more elegant, according to a new US patent filing. Rather than rely on either dual sliders (as with the Helio Ocean) or other complicated designs, the prototype would include a unique keyboard plate and slider track that would allow users to shift the LCD from calling to text modes without significantly impacting the size of the phone.
The cellphone maker is not under any pressure to use the patent and has not done so to date. However, the design shown in concept images is one not seen before from HTC. If put into production, the device would either be a new model altogether or else a major replacement for an existing model, such as the HTC Vox
