An innovative mobile travel guide - mobiEXPLORE Croatia, was officially launched for this summer at www.mobiexplore.com. This mobile guide presents a unique solution for the mobile phones that combines rich content, useful functionality, daily updated information and best of all it is available completely free of charge. All tourists and visitors to Croatia (Lonely Planet’s Top Destination for 2005) now have the opportunity to see all that Croatia has to offer on their mobile phone. mobiEXPLORE Croatia was developed by Gideon Multimedia, award-winning multimedia development company. This is a first in series of similar projects planned for major European travel destinations by Gideon Multimedia, a member of Nokia’s advanced developer program, Forum Nokia PRO.
Croatia is increasingly popular travel destination mainly because it managed to preserve “The Mediterranean As It Once Was” with spectacular beaches, pristine nature and rich cultural and historical heritage. MobiEXPLORE Croatia features 157 destinations including national parks, cultural and historical sights, popular but also less known resorts and tourist destinations throughout Croatia. It has interactive maps of Croatia and individual cities, animations, photos, guides, etc., all combined to present information about active vacation, gastronomy, fun and entertainment, sights, news, service information, useful tips and advice, local customs and much more. It even features a small Croatian phrasebook. MobiEXPLORE Croatia is initially available in English and Croatian but Italian and German versions are scheduled to be launched within few weeks.
Best of all, it is available as a freeware. You can download it from www.mobiexplore.com and there you can also see an online demo. Those tourists who already arrived in Croatia can get by calling Gideon’s call centre at +385 21 314 000.
The mobiEXPLORE project is based on Adobe® Flash® Lite™ technology, specifically developed for mobile phones and consumer electronics devices.
